So you think
safety glasses are all the same?...Think again!
Example
In a priority situation only 2 weeks ago. One
of our client sites suffered a tragedy when an employee lost an eye
from grinding sheet metal without wearing any safety lenses 'at
all'. 'The projectile' approximately 4.5cm in length, penetrated
straight through the eye and embedded itself only millimeters from
the brain.
According to Optometrist
- Bob Lindner...."
Most people would say a $2.00 pair of safety glasses would have
prevented this!"...The answer is NO!...In
fact...a cheap pair of safety lenses can actually make matters
worse. If safety lenses shatter during an encounter with a
projectile, then there is a good chance for 'shrapnel' to enter the
eyes and create even worse matters for the injury."
