Our EMR Department has experienced incredible growth over the last few months. Apart from being a great service to industry, which helps to capture workplace injuries and reduce costs, by delivering a comprehensive and integrated specialist medical and injury prevention management system; a few of our new clients came as a result of the issues which are surrounding the medical profession and the government lately. Which inturn affects the public hospital system. This...you guessed it...Affects you...

Click on the picture of the 'ambulance' on the left and view a 'SLIDE SHOW' of our NEW AMBULANCES featuring new signage. These are the WORKCARE EMERGENCY VEHICLES which respond daily to our 'client sites'. We've spent a fortune on the latest vehicles, equipment and reflective material to ensure 'greater visiblity' and safety whilst on client sites.

EYE CARE SAFETY WEAR

Lenses Ain't Lenses

So you think safety glasses are all the same?...Think again!

Example

In a priority situation only 2 weeks ago. One of our client sites suffered a tragedy when an employee lost an eye from grinding sheet metal without wearing any safety lenses 'at all'. 'The projectile' approximately 4.5cm in length, penetrated straight through the eye and embedded itself only millimeters from the brain.

According to Optometrist - Bob Lindner
...." Most people would say a $2.00 pair of safety glasses would have prevented this!"...The answer is NO!...In fact...a cheap pair of safety lenses can actually make matters worse. If safety lenses shatter during an encounter with a projectile, then there is a good chance for 'shrapnel' to enter the eyes and create even worse matters for the injury."

So what is WORKCARE doing to inform our clients of the differences?

In an experiment conducted at WORKCARE we placed...

LENSES UNDER THE 'BONKER'!!!

...sounds 'funny', but the 'BONKER' packs quite a punch!

BONKER explained...
(The BONKER is an apparatus which is used to test the strength of safety lenses placed in safety eyewear. Daily we have companies promoting lenses and telling us we should use their stuff. (Then the 'BONKER' shows us otherwise...)

Below are '2 Video Examples with sound' of the 'BONKER' in action. Demonstrating, that safety lenses are not all what they seem or claim to be. The first video is a standard 'hardware store type' lens found in 'Average Safety Wear' and the second video demonstrates the strength of lenses found in  'WORKCARE SAFETY EYEWEAR'.

PLEASE NOTE:
Before you can view the Videos' you will have to download the latest '
Macromedia Flash Player 6 or greater'. You will also have to be connected to the Internet. Click images below...

STANDARD SAFETY LENS TEST

WORKCARE 'EYECARE' SAFETY LENSES

Remember...at WORKCARE we never talk in a hypothetical sense...

Daily our Medics are responding to 'eye injuries' among many other Occupational Injuries. Then our Doctors having to treat eye injuries from the effects of not wearing 'safety glasses', during such tasks as 'metal grinding' or working with machinery. Protecting your eyes with just a cheap pair of glasses is
NOT going to protect you from a projectile traveling at high speeds.

The IMPACT which the 'BONKER' delivers it's blow is equivalent to a cricket ball delivered by a fast bowler.

Don't mess around with safety wear. That $2.00 pair from your local hardware store isn't the answer.

Order your prescription lenses today so that you will be able to enjoy more 'visual insights' through WORKCARE Medical and WORKCARE.TV...But more importantly...Create a Safer Workplace.

Work Conditioning Department

The Work Conditioning Story…

An Insider's View

Upon commencing my time in the department, I was advised by previous employees that the department was a great ‘foot in the door job' for new graduates who wanted to break into the exercise rehabilitation arena. They explained the transient nature of the department, in that no employee ever stayed very long before leaving to work for rival companies considered to be the industry benchmarks. With the provision of minimal career development opportunities, no regular performance reviews, inadequate internal procedures and infrastructure, and a team of frustrated cynics, the advice appeared sound.

My how things have changed... During late November 2002, Nathan Williams ‘crossed over’ from the Rehabilitation Department, accepting the challenge of heading the Work Conditioning team. Since his appointment as Manager, the product and staff developmental changes have been no less than dramatic. Throughout the process of evolvement into THE benchmark Work Conditioning Service in NSW (not a biased opinion at all), each therapist has contributed to developing, implementing, and refining practices to ensure the uniqueness, competitiveness and ongoing sustainability of the service. The reward of exceeding our budget for the past three months can only be described as superficial to the sense of job satisfaction, security and direction that has resulted.
