"A Lost Time Injury Free Workplace...is now a choice!" - WORKCARE

APRIL 2004 NEWSLETTER (FOCUS ON INJURY MANAGEMENT)

Welcome

Dear Clients and Friends

In this month's Issue of WORKCARE News we focus on Injury Management; What is? and Why?

Since the Injury Management Act of 1998 more and more companies are realizing that having an Injury Management System in the workplace is NOT 'company policy'...It's the Law!

While making the effort to create a safer workplace or create a plan which allows an Injured Worker to resume some form of daily work activity i.e. suitable duties, may lead some to believe they are complying with mandatory legislation...

 The questions remain:

  • Is your system effective? If so, could it be improved even more?

  • Is the suitable duties process in your workplace signed-off by a doctor?

  • Has your Injury Management System or procedure undergone a 3rd Party evaluation process for quality?

INJURY MANAGEMENT 2004

What is Injury Management?

Why is it Important?

Injury Management is focused on early intervention in the return to work process. When an injured workers return to work program is initiated early, the provision of suitable duties and communication with the workplace directly contributes to reducing the time and cost associated with a workplace injury.

$1 from each claim will result in a premium increase of $3

WorkCover premiums are experience rated, which means that they can go up and down depending on the workplace claims experience. Any costs incurred through a workplace injury will have a direct impact on a companies claims cost and accordingly your WorkCover premium.

WORKCARE Medical can save you money through;

  • Outcome based Injury Management objectives driving case closure

  • Risk Assessments to assist in avoiding workplace injury

Result = A direct positive effect on your workers compensation premium

The WORKCARE Advantage
